Maureen Gorman is a senior client advisor in Marsh’s Financial and Professional Practice (FINPRO) and is also Marsh FINPRO’s Center of Influence (COI) Leader.
In her role as a Client Advisor Maureen’s area of focus is on Professional Services firms. Given her expertise in captives and other forms of alternative risk transfer, she supports many of the largest and most complex captive programs within the Practice. Most notable is her work with one the most esteemed group captive programs in the industry whose members include some of America’s largest and most prestigious law firms with national and international reach. She is based in Marsh’s New York office.
As the Marsh FINPRO COI leader Maureen is responsible for the implementation and development of the Marsh FINPRO Panel Counsel initiative, the first broker led panel counsel in the industry. There are currently two Marsh FINPRO panels: Securities Panel and Asset Management Panel – comprised of over 40 of the nation’s most highly regarded law firms and nine insurance company trading partners.
Maureen is an honorary member of the Marsh FINPRO Global Advisory Board and a member of the Marsh FINPRO Digital Asset Risk Transfer (DART) team.
Maureen led FINPRO’s efforts to develop Responsible Corporate Officer Corporate Response Coverage which won the Business Insurance Innovation Award in 2013. She received the 2019 Distinguished Alumna, Business and Entrepreneurial Award from the University of St. Joseph. She also received a 2020 Power Broker Award from Risk & Insurance Magazine.
Throughout her 35 years in the insurance industry Maureen has successfully focused on developing value-added risk management programs for clients. Before rejoining Marsh in 2008 she was with Guy Carpenter, in the Alternative Reinsurance Solutions group and she also managed the West Coast Casualty Facultative operation. Prior to that she was a Reinsurance Underwriter for Swiss Re North America and Maureen was a Team Leader in the Marsh San Francisco Global Broking operation. She began her career at The Travelers Insurance Company in Hartford, Ct. where she was an Account Executive in the Special Accounts Marketing group focusing on complex casualty insurance.
